Jazz in the Neighborhood presents the Schimscheimer Family Trio and their new Broken Home CD release. A creative collaboration with Kasey Knudsen on alto sax, Jon Arkin on drums, and Michael Coleman on keyboards, the trio's music blends elements of tuneful composition, improvisation, and electro-acoustic manipulations evoked by all. For this event, Ben Goldberg, who plays on the album as well, will make a special guest appearance on Bb and contra-alto clarinets. Selections from the new album, as well as a variety of new and old compositions, are on the program for this CD release celebration. Broken Home, their long-awaited second album, was recorded at Figure 8 in Brooklyn, NY, and released on Ben Goldberg's BAG Production record label. The Schimsheimer's debut album Family Fun Time is available on Bandcamp.
