"I don’t want to show people what the world is like, I want to show people what the world can be, for all its dirty, sexual, crazy, campy and colorful potential." - dir Yony Leyser
A young American writer falls for a Russian hustler and introduces him to his alternative lifestyle amongst Berlin’s queer and underground scenes, but as they make their hedonistic journey through clubs and parties, their inner desires reveal themselves. While examining the differences between expatriate and refugee life, our characters travel through Berlin's layered history, unique subcultural landscape and visit real locations where many Berlin-based personalities give performances, often playing themselves. These include ‘Godmother of Punk’ Nina Hagen, cult musician and performance artist Peaches, Rosa Von Praunheim, Rummelsnuff, Blood Orange, Einstuerzende Neubauten and Blixa Bargeld (formerly of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds)
