Idris Ackamoor
Idris Ackamoor is a living legend: multi-instrumentalist, master tap dancer, composer and leader of SF’s famed afro-futurist free jazz ensemble, The Pyramids. From his studies with Cecil Taylor in the 1970’s, to his sojourns in Morocco, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Egypt, Ackamoor has approached music as incantation, “creating community on stage, ritual, magic and costume drama […] in the same breath as Sun Ra.” He often collaborates with David Molina, Rhodessa Jones, and The Pyramids are currently scheduling their eighth world tour. Ackamoor is also the founder and Executive/Co-Artistic Director of the multi-disciplinary Cultural Odyssey, celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women on April 9-19, 2015 at the Brava Theater.

Voicehandler
Danishta Rivero and Jacob Felix Heule comprise the singular duo, Voicehandler. Rivero modifies her extended vocal technique using a water-based electro-acoustic instrument of her own invention, the Hydrophonium. Heule performs a sonic anti-aliasing in real time through micro percussion and electronics that must be heard closely to be believed. Voice Handler's librettos have drawn upon sources as varied as Luis Borges, Knut Hamsun, Eduardo Galeano, and William Burroughs.

Amanda Chaudhary
Amanda Chaudhary's gaze, her custom software synths, her modular synthesizers, kids' toys, and all manner of folk instruments combine to confound and awaken the heretofore undiscovered sensibilities of her audiences. Chaudhary is also a photographer, fashion model, designs technology for creativity, plays keyboards and electronics with the highly acclaimed Surplus 1980, and operates the foremost blog on cats and synthesizers, CatSynth.

IMA
IMA is the electro-percussive duo of Nava Dunkelman and Jeanie-Aprille Tang. Expressing voice through timbre in percussion and electronics, IMA operates in present moments to distort ongoing time perspectives through mirroring, non-retrograde, reflection, modulation, paralleling, echoes and melodies in speech. Dunkelman is a Bay Area based percussionist and improviser; her musical interests span the globe from Japanese taiko to Indonesian gamelan and American marching band. Tang is an audio visual artist + electro-acoustic composer/improviser; born in Hong Kong, she gravitates to rhythms of construction sites, roaming traffic, inaudible conversations, and airplanes. Her instrument is a collection of electronic hardware and plexi-glass.
