Esurance ICER AIR is the first stadium big air ski and snowboard competition to be held in the United States. Continuing in the tradition of Icer Air 2005, Esurance ICER AIR is a unique and outrageous urban event that will break boundaries by bringing the snow from the slopes to San Francisco, merging urban and athletic communities with an exciting event. On November 4th, 20 of the most accomplished world class skiers and snowboarders, including Olympic medalists and X-Games champions will descend a 100 foot high ramp, covered with over 200 tons of snow. Ideal jumps will have riders flying 80-100 feet at heights of up to 20 feet. Jonny Moseley will be on hand to host and emcee the event.
Esurance ICER AIR will have a festival-like atmosphere, featuring the inaugural San Francisco Ski & Snowboard Festival and plenty of surprises throughout the day.
Featured this year will also be the irreverent and incredible Jurassic 5, a five-man collective known for a no-frills ethos musical approach that evokes old school hip hop. They may have shared concert stages in the U.S. and abroad with mainstream acts Green Day, OutKast, Bruce Springsteen, Fiona Apple, and D’Angelo, but their music has always maintained the underground grit of their 1997 self-titled independent EP that sold 300,000 copies worldwide.
Also featured, will be Liverpool-based UK dance rockers Ladytron. Their latest release, Witching Hour, has been hailed as Ladytron's breakthrough album, one that fizzes and sparks with the band's own idiosyncratic charms. Entertainment Weekly declares that Witching Hour ". . . has supremely catchy songs that burst with life."
