Despite having only a handful of releases to his name, OBJEKT (a.k.a. TJ Hertz) has already made a serious impact in the underground dance music scene. The Berlin-based Brit clearly knows a thing or two about sound design, sculpting intricate tunes that morph and shift at every turn. His tracks on Hessle Audio as well as his own Objekt white label series occupy a unique space that combines UK post-dubstep rhythmic sensibilities with a heads-down Berlin techno aesthetic. His DJ sets are banging, expansive, and sure to take the dancefloor on a journey to somewhere weird. This will be his SF debut, fresh off his stint at RBMA in New York.
While Frankfurt-based GERD JANSON may not quite be a household name here in the US of A, rest assured that the man is one of Europe's most respected house selectors. With residencies at Frankfurt's legendary Robert Johnson club, as well as Berlin's club mecca Panorama Bar, it's safe to say that the guy is REALLY good at DJing. His production game is similarly on point, crafting late-night friendly, acid-tinged tracks as one half of Tuff City Kids. Mr. Janson also runs the esteemed Running Back label, which has released tracks from artists such as Theo Parrish, Redshape, Tiger & Woods, Prosumer, Matthew Styles, Tensnake, Syclops (a.k.a. Maurice Fulton), Todd Terje, Raudive, and many others. In other words, the guy knows his shit, and his SF debut at ICEE HOT is sure to impress.
