Mystic Bill

Known as a true preacher of underground house music, a member of Chicago's House Preservation Society, and one of the key figures in Chicago's warehouse and loft party scene. Bill has always been considered a "for those who know" type DJ. After a four-year hiatus, Bill has return to let the rest of the world in on his secret.

Bill's family migrated from Cuba in the late 1960's. He was born in Los Angeles, and later raised in Miami, Florida. At a young age he began attending nights at a club called "The Forest" a local teen club. The club would attract younger and older kids due to the music that was played. The Dj would play all of the Miami Tk Disco & Marlin Label music, along with a lot of the Italo Disco coming from Italy and what was known there as NY Underground Disco. Besides the music, groups like Lime, Sandy Martin & Den Harrow would perform there. At the time there were only a few clubs in Miami where you can here that type of music, until Salvation (downtown) came around. While most of his friends were able to get into Salvation, Bill was one of the unfortunate ones. "I remember sitting on the stairs outside, while people would be selling LSD to patrons walking in, and Krishna's would be on the sidewalk chanting". "There was no place like Salvation". Shortly after, he was able to obtain a fake ID and it was then, that he began going to clubs like Copa, Fire & Ice, Seda (South Eastern Disco Association) and Horizons. Right from the time he began attending clubs is when he became serious about record collecting. He had been dj'ing birthday parties, and events for friends, but it wasnt until a few of his early gigs at nights like "Disco Inferno", that he started getting some recognition. Bill remembers South Beach when it was mainly Artists, Punks and Gays that lived and partied there. He remembers discovering House Music when he landed a job at Flamingo Record Pool, a record pool run by Richard Mcvay & Bill Kelly (WMC fame). Bill remembers when promos from Chicago started coming in with house mixes and acid mixes. He felt so in tune with what was going on in Chicago that he felt the need to move there. He had friends that had recenly moved, and after frequent visits, he as well decided to make the move. Shortly after, he began spinning at clubs and loft parties around town. His first residency was at the Shelter in the downstairs Boiler Room, and later at places like The Vault with Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, as well as Alcazar with Spencer Kincy. In the time since he has held several residencies and has traveled around the world. He's worked with many well known artists in the business, and has released projects on labels such as Trax, Club House, Relief, and Rong Music to name a few. Bill has been an influence on many of today's talent and continues to spread his unique brand of underground house music to the world.

Tyrel Williams

Tyrel has been a mainstay of Chicago’s underground House scene for years. He began mixing records in 1999. Soon later he landed a job at Gramaphone Records where he spent many years building his collection of dance records. He spent 2008-2011 building his Acid Test residency at Smart Bar, which is an all vinyl House / Techno party. Guests have included Derrick Carter, Traxx, Justin Long, Convextion, Dave Aju, and Tevo Howard. Tyrel has recently moved to San Francisco where he is a resident DJ for Housepitality, Bionic, and has also started his Acid Test party with Bryan Bai-ee, Miguel Solari and Luke Nasaw incorporating all live analog sets.
