TONE of ARC

San Francisco producer Derrick Boyd aka Dead Seal, now Tone OF Arc a world wide performing duo/band which includes partner/vocalist Zoe Presnick. They both have been making music for most of their lives, two of those special individuals possessed with a wide range of musical expression. Tone Of Arc brings a glimpse of real musicality to the underground tech house, punk house, and indie house scene, something rarely experienced on the dance floor. They also sing, play guitar, bass, and keys (along with a variety of other random instruments that occupy their studio, which now includes a cello!). This sense of bravado and daring blurs the line between traditional live performance and the microprocessor obsessed futurism. Tone Of Arc's powerful stage presence drawn from old school cats like Iggy Pop, The Clash, and Bowie helps to partially define the originality of their music. Boyd himself describes these new directions in sound as discovering the infinite within the mortal remains and posits that this is the dichotomy of existence. Even the alias Dead Seal is part of his philosophy acting as "a symbol of my past, present, and future lives- reminding me that I am more than just a man." Tone Of Arc, in short means the sound of the laws of creation, a name born from the wonder of the sound that holds all things in the universe together.

Michael Tello

Michael Tello was born in Los Angeles California in 1978. The son of Latino parents with an eclectic taste in music, he was exposed to a wide variety of music, ranging from the tribal rhythms of South America to the cutting edge, electronic sounds of the early 1980's. At age 12, Michael's dad purchased a DJ set up with turntables, mixer & microphone and asked him to hook it all up. Michael had found a new interest and love for the art of DJing. He began experimenting with his mom and dads Disco, Salsa and Funk 12 records and 45s. Michael has also been producing and playing music for over 20 years. A audio engineer who has the distinct ability towards sonic perfection.

Now calling Brooklyn, New York home he is staying busy in the studio along with managing two tour schedules and two business. He is grateful and humbled by the opportunity to do what he loves and share his music and creative vision with his family, friends and the world.

Dave Aju

San Francisco Bay Area native Marc Barrite created the DJ/production alias Dave Aju as a vehicle for his unique take on electronic music. Working at his own pace, Dave Aju has come to be known as a reliable source for fresh and expressive sounds, combining knowledge and passion for the roots of dance music culture with a natural fascination with sound and an adventurous approach, unafraid to try new things. A broad palette of outside musical influences can be found in Aju's work, though his jazz upbringing and hip-hop foundation are clearly at the core, with an overall warm, laid back, unmistakably west coast vibe.

Dave Aju remixes, DJ sets, and live performances are currently in demand at labels, clubs, and festivals across the globe, and favored by a number of forward-thinking peers including Matthew Herbert, who has recently commissioned Aju for an EP release. His debut full-length album Open Wide is still causing a stir in the electronic music community after being nominated for the honorable Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, and praised by both everyday music-lovers and esteemed colleagues for it's bold attempt at bridging diverse sub-genres and the experimental yet effective use of only his mouth and voice as sound sources.
