Hope & Action: An Inauguration Eve Gathering

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join Bay-Area makers, designers, artists and lawyers for an evening of fundraising, organizing and advocacy on the eve of Donald Trump’s inauguration. Featuring: a silent and live auction of handmade art and furniture pieces, plus design services, wine, and more; music, dancing, good vibes, and lots of nice people who can help you figure out how to channel your post-election rage into helping those most affected by the new administration.

Starts at 6:00, LIVE AUCTION at 7:30 pm

Dress Code: Casual
Please note that there will be a cash bar for the event with all proceeds to be donated to Impact Fund.

WHY?

Because we care deeply about the millions of people across the US who may be impacted by this new administration and its policies. Because we all have friends, family, loved ones, and even casual acquaintances who have to cope with the crushing realization that racism, sexism, xenophobia, and homophobia just got a much more hospitable environment in which to breed.
And because there's one easy way to help: by giving to an organization that works tirelessly to protect the safety, health, and civil liberties of all Americans.

WHO?

A group of Bay-Area locals who needed to do something other than obsessively read news articles and panic. What started as a casual email chain about needing to vent about the election is now a full-fledged team of neophyte community organizers who are banding together to raise money for The Impact Fund, a not-for-profit, national clearinghouse for public interest impact litigation in the areas of civil rights, environmental justice and poverty law.

Impact litigation will be a critical stopgap for what is shaping up to be an impending constitutional crisis. In its over 20 year history, The Impact Fund has backed court cases championing all matters of social justice, ranging from equal pay and promotion for women, LGBT equality, low-income housing and healthcare, and environmental protection. Basically, by funneling all donations from our event to this one organization, we’re getting the biggest bang for our buck in defending multiple causes at-risk under the Trump administration.

Special thanks to our friends at Glama-Rama Salon for offering their space and support!

Want to do more? Great! Support is welcomed, including donation of auction items, booze, and volunteer time. Feel free to reach out to any of our event organizers to get involved:
