Honky-Tonk Showdown #16 with Trevor McSpadden
Ever since those first recordings in the 1920s, country music has gone through multitudes of changes and has seen it's popularity rise and fall. Each decade seems to take on it's own flavor and style of what they call "country music". For many a moon the current Nashville pop sound has ruled the radio air waves and music sales across the country, but some pockets of America still thrive and flourish on the old classic sounds of way back when. San Francisco is one of those pockets. The Annual Honky-Tonk Showdown is a celebration of that very sound -- classic country music. Come listen, laugh, dance, and drink. And if we're lucky, maybe a bar fight will break out.

Trevor comes from a place and era of true country music. Where Hank, Johnny, George, Merle, Waylon, and Willie are country gods. Where country music can be heard coming from the dancehalls and honky-tonks. Trevor and his band play real country music. No Nashville bullshit here.
