HiLLBiLLY ROBOT: an Urban Americana Music Event returns for round three. The festival, we mean event, runs every weekend in February and features a variety of urban-flavored Americana; including classic country, outlaw country, vintage bluegrass, 50s rockabilly, western-swing, New Orleans jazz, and wild Americana. This year's event welcomes bands as far away as Brooklyn, New York and Portland, Oregon, with lots of local favorites in the mix, including Belle Monroe & her Brewglass Boys 20 year anniversary show and JonEmery & The Dry County Drinkers CD release party. No matter what your listening pallet may be (city or country) we've got a little something for everyone. So break out your bestest overalls, spit-shine your boots, and head on down to Hillbilly Robot for some good old-fashioned downhome music.

ROOSEVELT DIME (Brooklyn, NY)
Imagine yourself relaxing on a steamboat as it lazily floats down the Mississippi River all the way to The Big Easy. Suddenly, the band strikes up a tune, music fills the air and everyone is on their feet, clapping, dancing and singing along. Welcome to the world of Roosevelt Dime, a five-piece, Brooklyn, N.Y.-based band that blends elements of acoustic jug-band blues, classic Motown soul and modern alt-country to create an original sound best described as King’s County Steamboat Soul.

EARLES OF NEWTOWN (Nevada City, CA)
Earles of Newtown ain’t just whistling Dixie. They’re swinging it like nobody ever did it before. Packing a distinctive Americana punch, Earle’s original tunes mix Harlem and New Orleans jazz traditions with hometown Nevada City roots – plus a pinch of playa dust to keep it surreal. A hard-driving horn section. Dueling vocals. Over-the-top talent on banjo, guitar and piano. Put it all together. You’ve got the new jazz sensation where hot sass meets cool class. And your feet just can’t be still.
Earles of Newtown received the “Best Live Band of 2014 Award” from the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce in Northern California. Notable performances include opening for Dr. John and Allen Toussant as well as March Fourth Marching Band.
