HiLLBiLLY ROBOT "Americana Mayhem"

SEE EVENT DETAILS
HiLLBiLLY ROBOT returns for round two! The festival, we mean event, runs every weekend in February and features a variety of urban-flavored Americana; from classic country to alt-country to traditional bluegrass to outlaw bluegrass to raw-n-roll blues to indie-pop with hints of twang. This year's event welcomes the return of "Portland Invasion" (yeah!), and new show "Songs of '69: a Tribute to an Amazing Year in Music", plus popular festival mainstays; "Honky-Tonk Showdown", "Bluegrass Bonanza", "Americana Jukebox", and a CD release show! No matter what your listening pallet may be (city or country) we've got a little something for everyone. So break out your bestest overalls, spit-shine your boots, and head on down to Hillbilly Robot for some good old-fashioned downhome music.

Not exactly traditional. Not exactly Americana. "Americana Mayhem" is a name given to tonight's show- a cluster of indie-pop and alt-rock played on acoustic instruments. It's dance music for people who like good music, and it's the official CD release show for the brand-spankin' new Blisses B record.

BLISSES B (SF)
*Official CD release show for their brand-spankin' new record*
Local band makes good. Good music that is. A music that can't be shoved into one category or one genre. They play a little bit of everything- from psychedelic pop to folk rock to high-energy indie rock. It's music that makes you hum along, jump round and dance your ass off.

RIN TIN TIGER (SF)
Alternative folk rock trio, Rin Tin Tiger, play high energy, lyric heavy, acoustic guitar lead songs about life in contemporary society. The sound is often described as a blend between early Bob Dylan, Violent Femmes, and
Tupac. They have shared the stage with The Lumineers, Minus the Bear, Young the Giant, Manchester Orchestra, and many more along the West Coast.

BIG JUGS (Santa Barbara)
Sometimes controversial, sometimes semi-offensive, but always humorous and not afraid to say it: They love big jugs! The boys of Big Jugs love a number of other things, too, but due to strict codes of ethics, those things can’t be listed here.

RAVEN MARCUS (SF)
This female fronted trio falls under the genre of Cowboy Glam Rock; think mandolin inspired rock and roll with lots of gold glitter and a hint of twang. If The Slits morphed with David Bowie and had harmonies like a feminine Simon & Garfunkel, you'd be pretty close to Raven Marcus.
