HiLLBiLLY ROBOT "Americana Jukebox"

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Plough & Stars (see times)
HiLLBiLLY ROBOT returns for round two! The festival, we mean event, runs every weekend in February and features a variety of urban-flavored Americana; from classic country to alt-country to traditional bluegrass to outlaw bluegrass to raw-n-roll blues to indie-pop with hints of twang. This year's event welcomes the return of "Portland Invasion" (yeah!) and new show "Songs of '69: a Tribute to an Amazing Year in Music", plus popular festival mainstays; "Honky-Tonk Showdown", "Bluegrass Bonanza", "Americana Jukebox", and a CD release show! No matter what your listening pallet may be (city or country) we've got a little something for everyone. So break out your bestest overalls, spit-shine your boots, and head on down to Hillbilly Robot for some good old-fashioned downhome music.

THE MOUNTAIN MEN (Mariposa)
This all-star supergroup are one of the hottest bluegrass new bands on the California music scene ...and features some of the finest pickers in these parts, including: Andy Roberts (the Trespassers) on banjo, David Barrow and Kyle Morrison on guitar, Jared Jesperson on mandolin, Fritz Bagget on fiddle, Erik Anderson on dobro, and Alec Laroche on bass.

NO GOOD REDWOOD RAMBLERS (Arcata, CA)
The Ramblers bring a powerful blend of boot stomping rhythm, old-time flavor, and roots-inspired dance music to their music. They run the gamut from traditional murder ballads and whiskey soaked drinking songs, to Appalachian fiddle tunes and bluegrass standards. With a raucous energy and a sound all their own, the quintet from Humboldt County gets a crowd’s feet to shuffling wherever they go.
