HILARITY is a new play about a girl named Cyd.

She's not so nice. She's not so sober. She's not so happy. But she is funny.Cyd is a comic on the edge of destruction. Liz is the only person keeping her from pickling herself to death. She has an agent who's afraid of confrontation. She has a mother who likes men on motorcycles. She has a mattress in the middle of the room, and that's it. Maybe she'll turn it all around, or maybe her drunken lies, hungover manipulations and impulsive violence will finally bury her. What does it matter how good you are at something, if you don't know how to be a person?

Allison Page (playwright) is a writer/actor/comedian from rural northern Minnesota. She's been in the bay area for over 6 years and has been a company member with sketch comedy beast Killing My Lobster for over 4 years. As a writer, she's had short plays in the SF Olympians Festival ("Golden Apple of Discord") and SF Theater Pub's Pub From Another World ("Mrs. Youngblood"). She's written for numerous literary events including Women of Letters, Shipwreck, Write Club SF, Travel Tavern and others. Her blog Everything Is Already Something appears on sftheaterpub.com every other Wednesday.
