High Sierra Music today announced the initial artist lineup for the 22nd Annual High Sierra Music Festival running July 5 through July 8, 2012 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds, 204 Fairground Road, Quincy, CA, 95971. The Festival has been recognized for over two decades for its trademark sense of community and annual traditions among festival goers and music lovers. The picturesque location, the wide variety of artists, the unique musical settings at affordable prices all combine to make High Sierra the ultimate, intimate festival experience and premier four-day camping and music event in North America.

The lineup includes Ben Harper, STS9, Railroad Earth, Galactic, Built to Spill, Toots and the Maytals, Ryan Bingham, ALO Lotus, Delta Spirt, Soulive, Heartless Bastards, the Devil Makes Three, Deer Tick, Greensky Bluegrass, The Slip, Lettuce, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, Grupo Fantasma, MarchFourth Marching Band, Skerik’s Bandalabra, Red Baraat, The New Orleans Suspects, the Stooges Brass Band, Nathan Moore, the Lumineers, Marco Benevento, Elephant Revival, Papadosio, Brokedown in Bakersfield, The Motet: Funk Is Dead!, Gardens and Villa, Mike Dillon Band, Steve Poltz and Artists at Large – Skerik and Mike Dillon with more to be announced soon.

Nestled in the quaint town of Quincy, CA (3,500 ft), the High Sierra Music Festival offers a variety of outdoor activities, personal wellness programs and arts and educational events. The scenic beauty of the Sierra foothills is a great place to take in swimming, hiking and biking while also enjoying a full palette of music offered on multiple daytime stages and multiple nighttime venues. The Festival features intimate artist “playshops,” an interactive Family Area, daily parades with oversized puppets, fabulous food with no waiting lines, Yoga, Pilates and dance classes along with the opportunity to just relax and camp with good friends in gorgeous weather along with an adjacent Olympic-sized swimming pool making the High Sierra Music Festival an anticipated yearly event and an experience for people of all ages.

High Sierra organizer Rebecca Sparks says, “What sets High Sierra apart is the sense of community people feel when they come to the festival. Many folks have made this an annual destination with friends and family to just unplug for the weekend, ditch their car for four days, and just enjoy.”

TICKETS AND INFORMATION

Early bird 4-day Passes are now available for $185 through May 14th or until the allotment runs out (whichever comes first). Teen Passes ($99) are valid for ages 13-16 and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult guardian. Kids 4-day pass $50 (ages 5 – 12); & under free. All multi-day tickets include camping. Parking is free in an off-site lot. Shuttle service provided. On-site vehicle passes $90; On-site RV passes are sold out; RV Annex passes (off-site RV parking, no hook-ups) $90. Motorcycle pass are $50.

Premium FestivALL Packages include four-day festival passes, access to a VIP lounge near the Grandstand Stage featuring elevated viewing, private port-o-johns, a massage chair (limited hours), beer and wine tastings, snacks, Late Night combination wristbands for access to all Late Night shows, festival t-shirts, festival posters and drink tickets, and early entry into Festival. These packages are designed for both individuals and groups of two. FestivALL Pack 2 includes a vehicle pass. Prices range from $675.00 - $1,350.00.

High Sierra Music has been producing world-class music festivals since 1991. An independent production company based in Berkeley, CA, the organization was founded with the first High Sierra Music Festival, its cornerstone event that takes place every July 4th weekend in Northern California, and remains committed to its grassroots beginnings by drawing support from its loyal community of patrons, staff, volunteers and non-corporate sponsors. In addition to the High Sierra Music Festival, the organization produces the third annual DelFest, taking place May 26–29, 2011 in Cumberland, MD.
