Description

Palo Alto-based company Slice (www.slice.com) is hosting a free happy hour and reading at Green Apple Books in San Francisco featuring three female Bay Area authors, including recent Oprah.com Book of the Week winner Yangsze Choo, author of The Ghost Bride.

Slice is the company behind the popular shopping app, and this summer, launched a brand new social network called Slice Bookshelf (www.slicebookshelf.com), which makes it easy to share and discover books with friends. Join us for refreshments, giveaways and readings to celebrate three award-winning local authors and our new Bookshelf site!

Schedule:

- 6:00 - 6:15: Reading by Yangsze Choo, The Ghost Bride (An original historical fantasy infused with Chinese folklore, romantic intrigue and unexpected supernatural twists.)

- 6:45 - 7:00: Reading by Helen Sedwick, Coyote Winds (A historical fiction novel about thirteen-year-old Myles who brings home a half-blinded coyote pup in the years just before the Dust Bowl.)

- 7:30 - 7:45: Reading by Joelle Fraser, The Forest House (A moving memoir about love, loss and starting over, set in northern California.)

Drinks, snacks and giveaways throughout the evening!
