Hamano Sushi is one of the best sushi houses in the city. Located off of 24th Street in Noe Valley, this unassuming restaurant caters to locals and those who have a yen for good sushi. The staff does a great job of dealing with the throngs of fish eaters but the wait can be a little long. Once you get in though, try sitting at the bar for some fun entertainment and interaction.

First, get a bottle of Sake. Get it chilled or at room temp, not hot! This will allow you to forget that you've been waiting and that you're hungry. Ordering: The soft shell crab or the spicy tuna roll are both very good. There's even a super spicy tuna roll for those looking to grow hair on their chest. The New York, California and Eel Rolls are all scrumptious.
