+ GHOSTS ON TAPE

ALL WE NEED IS YOU ....
Grime City Returns with a future bass special event!
As L-Vis 1990, James Connolly has been releasing a singular brand of club music free of rules and genres since dropping his eponymous debut EP in 2008. Yes, we understand if you’re sceptical—everyone claims to be a rule-breaker these days. But try putting into words the music on his and Bok Bok’s inimitable Night Slugs label or any of his tracks and remixes over the past few years and it should quickly become apparent that L-Vis 1990 has been doing things just a little bit differently.2012 saw James dive further into the House music whirlpool, with an anthemic remix for dance legends Orbital and his first release for Night Slugs since 2010s "Forever You". In 2013, two EPs Circuits and Ballads, once again commanded the attention of listeners with genre-pushing elements. Now, as musical director of the Matthew Stone directed "Love Focused Like A Laser" and focus on a slew of new projects, 2014 looks set to be the year that James and the Night Slugs brand keep pushing the limits and reaffirming their place at the forefront of progressive club music.
Ghosts on Tape:
A native of St. Louis, Ghosts On Tape relocated to San Francisco in 2003 and began garnering attention for his blistering DJ and live sets and the warped, slow-motion house and bass sounds he was creating. 2009's Predator Mode EP on Wireblock exploded his profile even further, as did an exclusive mix for Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 1 show and his selection as a participant at 2011's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid. Over the years, his tracks and remixes have also appeared on labels such as Planet Mu, Tigerbeat6, Frite Nite, Shockout, True Panther, Friends of Friends, Fifth Wall, and Opit, among others. His sound has evolved in that time, gradually moving back towards his Midwestern house and techno roots, but one thing hasn't changed: Ghosts On Tape likes raving.
Grime City DJ's:
SF's infamous original sublow crew are back together to take you through the sounds of minimal, house, grime, sublow, UK garage, techno, and the roots of dubstep and bass music. Since 2005 this crew has been key in playing and sharing forward thinking bass music at a small monthly party in a bar in one of the grittiest neighborhoods in SF. 2014 sees the return to throwing events and bringing out like minded artists! Current active lineup is 100 Spokes, Subtek, & Supa.
