H.P. Mendoza (FRUIT FLY, I AM A GHOST) adapts The Nonsense Company's award winning Great Hymn of Thanksgiving into an electrifying feature film. The first half takes place around a dinner table where three actor/musicians sing, pray and drum in this deconstruction of "War-on-Terror" speak. The second half is a volatile thought experiment in which three friends are thrown into a "ticking time bomb" scenario, dissecting, revising and even brutalizing their own positions on U.S. torture policy. And time has entered an ugly loop as the friends assign and reassign roles, dissolving boundaries between real and hypothetical.
Directed by H.P. Mendoza. 2013. Digital. 90 mins.
