As the largest glass pumpkin patch of its kind in Northern California, The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch® will celebrate its 20th anniversary in grand style this year with an expanded range of pumpkins and autumnal fruits and vegetables, glass-blowing demonstrations, and a special anniversary exhibition of pumpkins and glass artworks by Patch artists.
During the free family-friendly autumn celebration, Sept. 29-Oct. 4, visitors are invited to wander through an outdoor installation of more than 10,000 one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins, an indoor exhibition of special anniversary glass pumpkins and glass artworks, and then purchase the glass pumpkins and glass artworks on Oct. 3 and 4, at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Road, Palo Alto.
This year, more than 20 prominent glass artisans have created a dazzling array of one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins and other unique glass art objects.
Proceeds from the sale of the glass pumpkins support the three presenting organizations: the Bay Area Glass Institute; Palo Alto Art Center; and Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, as well as participating artists.
Exhibition dates for the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch® are Sept. 29-30, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Oct. 1-2, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Pumpkin sale dates are Oct. 3-4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For a complete list of pumpkin patch artists, please go to http://www.greatglasspumpkinpatch.com/2014-participating-patch-artists.html.
