The Graphic Arts Workshop has been a San Francisco fine art printmakers’ cooperative since the early 1950s. It is still going strong and, on July 31, 2014, will kick off a New Members Show, featuring prints from artists who have recently joined the studio.
These hand-pulled prints will reflect historic printmaking methods as well as modern and generally less toxic adaptations of traditional techniques. Each artist works in his or her own style, but all produce original fine art prints, not reproductions.
Participating artists: Eddie Lee; Melanie June Dorson; Elisabeth Nicula; Gail Morrison; Geneviève L'Heureux; Andrey Semyonov; and, Mariko Jesse.
The Graphic Arts Workshop is located at 2565 Third Street (on the Muni T line), #305, in San Francisco’s up-and-coming Dogpatch neighborhood.
The show will kick off with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014. The show continues Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2, 2014, from 1 to 6 p.m. In addition, the prints will be up through the end of August by appointment; call 415-632-6960 to schedule a showing.
The event is free, and all are welcome.
