MAGFest draws tens of thousands of gamers every year to its East Coast video game-and-nerd-music festival. They are working on expanding their popular event to this coast. Their first step, which they recently announced, is a partnership with San Jose's Rockage (a much more modest nerd fest now in its fourth year). Rockage and MAGFest are holding a pre-Rockage showcase at Cafe Stritch this Friday with headliners Super Soul Brothers--a local funk/soul video game cover band. Also on the bill, San Francisco chiptune rockers Crashfaster, Santa Cruz metal video game band Viking Guitar, and video game parody singer Lady Game Lyric. If you are a nerd, you will be in heaven.
