About Marco Benvento
For more than a decade pianist/sound-sculptor/songwriter Marco Benevento has been amassing an extensive resume of composition and collaboration. His studio albums have set forth a vision for music that connects the dots between Explosions In The Sky and Tortoise on one side, Brian Eno and Brad Mehldau on the other. In the live setting, his performances reverberate with pulsating dance rock energy, which has led to numerous high profile appearances, ranging from Carnegie Hall to Celebrate Brooklyn, Newport Jazz to Bonnaroo. Benevento's been invited to open for The Books, Ben Folds and Rubblebucket, while headlining shows from coast to coast.
About Megan Slankard
San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Megan Slankard has sold nearly 30,000 copies of four independently released CDs. Her music has been described as “edgy alt-rock” while her singing and lyricism has been compared to a young Joni Mitchell. She has received numerous music industry awards and co-wrote and performed on the title track of Dire Straits founding member David Knopfler’s record “Ship of Dreams”, touring three times as support for David through Germany and England, performing at the international festival InGuitar in Switzerland.
About the Novelists
The Novelists are a nationally touring acoustic group with multiple lead singers who’ve built their sound around storytelling and four-part harmonies. The Reno-based lyrical rock band formed in July 2011 when four singer-songwriter friends came together to share the benefits of writing and performing as an ensemble. Since the group’s inception, The Novelists have toured extensively throughout the United States and released the band’s debut album, Backstory. Backstory infuses four-part harmonies into a backdrop of “pop folk” highlighted by collaborative artistry, creative melodies and songwriting filled with imaginative storytelling.
Notable performances include: Cowboys Stadium (Dallas, TX), Strawberry Music Festival (Camp Mather, CA), Americana Music Festival (Virginia City, NV), Black Potatoe Music Festival (Clinton, NJ), Watsonville Strawberry Festival (Watsonville, CA), The Knitting Factory (Reno, NV), Shank Hall (Milwaukee, WI w/guest musician Daryl Stuermer of Genesis), Swallow Hill (Denver, CO), The Living Room (NY, NY)
