A symposium, “From Taylorism to Tailor Made: A Bridge Between Two Cultures,” explores the role of artisanal craftmanship, design and technology, as seen from the US and Italian perspective, and its future in advanced manufacturig processes. Keynote Speaker is Chris Anderson, former editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine and author of "Makers. The New Industrial Revolution".

The event is within “Making in Italy/Making in USA, Innovating with Beauty”, a three-day event, presented by Giannino Bassetti Foundation, which places a lens over shifts in design, prototyping and manufacturing industries, including 3D printing and laser cutting. The program is part of San Francisco Design Week
