Friday Nights at the de Young: The View from Above and to the West

Kick-start your weekend with free general admission, live music, art-making, cocktails, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures and exhibition tours, all in the name of art.

On Friday, September 23rd, join us for a special night of programming including an immersive art performance by Carsten Nicolai and a panel discussion featuring four master printers who have worked with Ed Ruscha.

Join us for:

• Live Immersive Art Experience with Carsten Nicolai
• Panel Discussion: Printing Ed Ruscha by Renée Bott of Paulson Bott Press, Ed Hamilton of Hamilton Press, Shaye Remba of Mixografia, and Jacob Samuel of Edition Jacob Samuel in Koret Auditorium at 7 pm
• Mixed-media art-making stations with Sedey Gabrey
• James Turrell's Three Gems in the Osher Sculpture Garden during its optimal viewing time—at sunset! Open 5–8:45 pm
• ‘mix-tape,’ by September Artist-in-Residence t.w.five
