| Description Fresh Meat in the Gallery launches its 6th annual transgender visual art exhibition with a free reception at the SF LGBT Community Center on June 6. Fresh Meat in the Gallery is a groundbreaking annual international exhibition of transgender and gender variant artists presented by Fresh Meat Productions.
Defying Gravities asks artists: In these unstable times how do you and your community rise up and thrive? How do you ground yourself in the midst of instability? What connections do you rely on or seek out? What do you dream of for yourself or your community? Queer history is full of acts of defiance: how do you find inspiration today in these histories? Fresh Meat in the Gallery VI: Defying Gravities is presented in conjunction with the 2009 Fresh Meat Festival, an annual festival of transgender and queer performance (June 18-21 at Project Artaud Theater). Defying Gravities is presented by Fresh Meat Productions (www.freshmeatproductions.org). |
