Proceeds from FRESH AND LOCAL! support the educational and cultural programming of Kala Art Institute, a non-profit arts organization located in West Berkeley. Kala Art Institute is dedicated to helping artists sustain their creative work over time through residency programs, exhibitions, classes, workshops, and innovative art outreach in public schools.
Now in its 41st year, Kala has grown from its early days in a tiny garage studio with one etching press and a single hot plate to its current 15,200 square foot art making facility with studios and a gallery in the historic Heinz Building. Its mission remains the same: to be a thriving, creative hub for artists and to provide engaging, artistic public programming now and into the future.
Tickets for Kala’s FRESH AND LOCAL! auction are available now at
https://www.kala.org or by calling Kala at 510-841-7000. A more complete list of artists, with images and information about the art and additional auction items, will be available on the Kala website by March 15, 2015.
