SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Kala Art Gallery (see times)
$75 in advance; $100 at the door;
$150 VIP: includes Cocktail Party at Meyer Sound
$250 Patron: two tickets and VIP Cocktail Party at Meyer Sound

Tickets for the gala auction on the night of Saturday, April 25 include a bid number for both live and silent auctions, sumptuous food, copious wine, and live music along with a dazzling variety of art work for every taste and budget. VIP ticket holders will enjoy a pre-auction cocktail party at Meyer Sound’s impressive headquarters next door to the Kala Gallery.

Malcolm Margolin, community visionary and founder of Berkeley-based Heyday Books, will host the auction as Honorary Chair. Celebrity chef Narsai David will return as Master of Ceremonies. Artists Kim Anno and Don and Era Farnsworth will be honored as the 2015 recipients of Kala Master Artist Award, joining previous honorees Emmanuel Montoya, Richard Shaw, Katherine Sherwood, Livia Stein, Christopher Brown, Squeak Carnwath, Jim Melchert, Hung Liu, Deborah Oropallo, Enrique Chagoya, and Rupert Garcia.

Proceeds from FRESH AND LOCAL! support the educational and cultural programming of Kala Art Institute, a non-profit arts organization located in West Berkeley. Kala Art Institute is dedicated to helping artists sustain their creative work over time through residency programs, exhibitions, classes, workshops, and innovative art outreach in public schools.

Now in its 41st year, Kala has grown from its early days in a tiny garage studio with one etching press and a single hot plate to its current 15,200 square foot art making facility with studios and a gallery in the historic Heinz Building. Its mission remains the same: to be a thriving, creative hub for artists and to provide engaging, artistic public programming now and into the future.

Tickets for Kala’s FRESH AND LOCAL! auction are available now at https://www.kala.org or by calling Kala at 510-841-7000. A more complete list of artists, with images and information about the art and additional auction items, will be available on the Kala website by March 15, 2015.
