Before Zane’s band CARNEY (co-lead by brother Reeve Carney) opened for U2, The Black Crowe’s, Gov’t Mule and The Veronicas, they headlined shows in 2008 and 2010 at Boom Boom Room here in San Francisco.
After becoming John Mayer’s Lead/Rhythm Guitar player in 2013 Zane started his own solo project and he’s been headlining huge venues (like El Rey Theatre and Mercury Lounge) in LA and NY. Back in SF by popular demand after his sold out show in July, this is a night you don't want to miss!
Bob Lefsetz raved about Zane’s Rock band CARNEY, likening the band's sound to a mysterious trip into the heart of darkness. While his original songs are still rooted in the off-centered approach to arranging that defined CARNEY, they lean slightly away from CARNEY’s raw and brooding Rock and Roll and more towards Zane’s roots in Jazz, Blues, Pop and Orchestral music. Zane’s songwriting style is grounded in storytelling and a compelling honesty but while his voice has been compared to that of Jeff Buckley, Zane’s songs tend to unwittingly showcase the passion he has for his first love: guitar. Zane Carney’s Confluence (Singer-Songwriter EP) and Amalgam (Jazz Guitar Album) are both available Worldwide on the iTunes Music Store.
