Do you notice inner critics that judge you harshly?
Do you believe that inner critics keep you from finding contentment?
Is it possible for inner critics to calm down?

Many of us do our best to keep inner critics away, or we try to get rid of them and find that this simply doesn’t work. No matter what we do, they keep trying to get our attention. Maybe they have another message that we need to pay attention to.

With the use of mindfulness and Zen meditation, participants will be offered ways to stop, recognize and listen as we practice new ways to relate to recurring thoughts and emotional patterns of critical self-judgment. We may find that these harsh voices are pointing to our innermost desires for safety, love and wholeness. We will practice relating to inner critic voices, cultivating our natural ability to listen in a field of calmness and compassion.

Deeply listening to self-critics and learning to engage with them with friendly creativity will start the transformational process of developing self-acceptance and self-compassion. This process leads to a kinder, more compassionate attitude toward ourselves.

This workshop meets the CE criteria for several health care professional designations and is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators.*

Note: Participation in this workshop fulfills the prerequisite for attending Transforming Depression and Anxiety: Ongoing Practice Group Classes.

Fees: $100; $90 current SFZC members; $80 limited income.
*Add $15 for CE certificate fee, to be paid at the time of registration.
Some partial scholarships available. No one turned away for lack of funds. (About Registration, Scholarships and Cancellations.)
