Movie Night at La Peña!
The movie we are showing tonight is Tea Time, by Maite Alberdi. This event is a collaboration with POV, PBS’ award-winning nonfiction film series.Tea Time follows five Chilean women, who meet monthly to drink tea, eat pastries, and catch up as they have for 60 years, despite their lives and the world changing around them. Tea Time is a charming and poignant look at how a seemingly mundane routine of tea and pastries has helped these women commemorate life’s joys and cope with infidelity, illness and death. The film, which is filmed over five years, is really a celebration of the small things that help us endure such as memory and friendship.
This event is free! Come enjoy an interesting documentary at La Peña! This event is the first of a three-part series of free movies coming from different areas including PBS, student films, local film-makers, etc.
