The Festival reprises Nathaniel Stookey's delightful whodunit, The Composer is Dead, narrated by the composer himself. The San Francisco Chronicle describes it a "blithe, vivacious orchestral score...funny, buoyant and engaging." It begins with the wildly popular Tour of the Orchestra, inviting kids to meet the orchestra's instruments and players. Then Maestra Alsop leads the orchestra through a musical murder mystery that will keep the whole family laughing!
The Free Family Concert happens during the Church Street Fair, a two-day family-friendly event with food and wine, art and craft vendors, kids activities, and non-stop local music and dance performances on the outdoor stage.
