The Cabrillo Festival’s wildly popular Free Family Concert introduces kids to the wonderful world of orchestral music. It begins with a Tour of the Orchestra where kids can make an up-close and personal connection to the different instruments and players. This year we’ll feature a world premiere Festival Commission composed and narrated by Jonathan Sheffer. The Conference of the Birds was inspired by a Persian folk tale about a flock of birds on a spiritual journey, and explores the orchestra’s ability to imitate the chirps, coos, and calls of our feathered friends.
