Frank Morbillo: New Works

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Sculpturesite Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition of new sculptures by artist Frank Morbillo, on view at the gallery from July 16 to August 20, 2016. Morbillo’s mastery of his materials and processes is demonstrated in the steel, glass, stainless steel and bronze works on display. The simultaneous release of the latest short film in Sculpturesite’s video series Inside the Sculptor’s Studio also features Frank Morbillo with footage of the artist in his New Mexico studio.

The exhibition Frank Morbillo: New Works displays a selection of recently completed sculptures from pedestal size to garden scale. Morbillo’s abstract sculptures emanate from his experience of the Southwest landscape; not in a descriptive, representational way, but rather as he bears witness to the sustained and dramatic effects of time on his environment.

Morbillo recently welcomed Sculpturesite owners Brigitte Micmacker and John Denning to his studio and we produced a fascinating short film. Visit our website to see Frank Morbillo at work and get more insight into his process. Watch as he works on several of the sculptures at various stages of development: from curving sheets of metal into the desired shapes to expertly applying a multi-layered patina to a small bronze.
