Francisco Park

City , Park / Open Space

After an extensive community outreach, the planners of the park arrived on a design that incorporated native plants and trees, as well as an ADA-accessible pathway linking features including a central green lawn, children's playground, fenced dog-run, community garden, and view terraces. Like Fort Mason, Francisco Park sits close enough to all the touristy places but far enough away to allow locals to play tourist for a few hours and then get away from all that and still enjoy beautiful views and the proximity of North Beach, the Marina, and Fisherman's Warf.

The 4.5 acre Francisco Park peers over the hillside above Aquatic Park and is one of the few privately-funded parks (along with Stern Grove and South Park) that has been gifted to the city.
