With 200-300ft high bluffs on the South-Western most edge of San Francisco, Fort Funston is one of the premier hang-gliding spots in the country. Most San Franciscan's who have dogs know that this is one of the best place to bring Fido to run, walk and play with other dogs off leash. Plus, the network of trails make it ideal for hiking. There are lots of great trail that lead down to the beach below, but it's a somewhat strenuous climb back up. Lastly, from the observation deck, you can sit and watch the handgliders zoom by, take in the amazing view of the ocean, or catch a beautiful sunset.
