Politically driven punk band Forced Reality is returning to the West Coast with only two dates, one in L.A. and one in San Jose-their first ever Bay Area show. The rebellious punk spirit that fuels Forced Reality is best expressed by founder Pete Morcey's energetic, catchy, growling vocals. The band started in 1986, part of the Oi! subgenre of punk. Oi! started in England in the late '70s as a reaction when some punks began to see bands like the Sex Pistols and the Clash as being too commercial and not political enough. Forced Reality, true to Oi! sound, play some aggressive, angry, political mid-tempo tunes with a bit of '60s mod-influenced garage rock. (Amulya Datla)
