The Food on the Couch Salon provides a feast of ideas, images, tastes, and stimulating discussion on food that reaches across disciplines in the humanities, literature, history, and politics. We anticipate a rich event filled with art and conversation that, like a shared meal, nourishes both the spirit and the senses.
Our presenters, Drs. Sandra Gilbert and Susan Schweik, will engage in an animated dialogue on food and its various roles in culture, beginning with formal presentations that lead into a discussion between the presenters as well as the audience. The Salon will conclude with a shared table of food and drink. CE units are available.
