Filson, the Seattle-based brand that’s been making durable gear for explorers for over a century and who just celebrated the opening of its SF store last month, will be hosting a tasting with the city’s own Fernet Francisco.
Founded by Max Rudsten and Ben Flajnik, Fernet Francisco was born of a mutual passion for the peculiar. After many backyard experiments and exhaustive global research of renowned international distilleries, they finally nailed down what is now the first locally crafted Bay Area fernet. Each batch features 12-hand picked herbs, which are distilled with a holy wisp of fresh fog for the purest, surest, spirit of San Francisco.
Guests will get the chance to meet the founders of Fernet Francisco and be one of the first to try their second barrel aged Fernet – matured in Seven Stills Chocasmoke casks, aged in the Bay Area, and limited to just 40 cases, it was created for the lionhearted. The complimentary tasting of the delicious, home-grown fernet concoction will take place at Filson’s new store, located in the heart of San Francisco’s Jackson Square. As two brands dedicated to pushing boundaries and seeking new experiences, Filson and Fernet Francisco are excited to join forces for a night in celebration of some of the best of the Bay, from what you wear to what you drink.
