On July 9 the Computer History Museum will host the only west coast exhibit of Fearless Genius, which will feature fifty photographs by renowned documentary photographer Doug Menuez. In his fifteen years of unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Apple, Kleiner Perkins, Adobe, and other iconic Silicon Valley organizations, Menuez captures a pivotal moment in the Valley’s history as the computing industry began its transition from analog to digital. The Museum is proud to host this exhibit in the region where so many of its stories unfolded.
The exhibit chronicles the rise of pioneering innovators like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Charles Geschke, and John Doerr, while shining an often forgotten spotlight on the banal moments that frequented office life and the everyday men and women who toiled to turn the digital dream into reality, often at great personal sacrifice and struggle. Menuez seeks to document all aspects of the human experience from this unique moment in Silicon Valley’s history.
Fearless Genius will be on display in the lobby from July 9 to September 7, 2014 and is an exclusive preview to Menuez’s new book of the same title. The book, with nearly two hundred additional images, includes a foreword by world-class Magnum photographer Elliott Erwitt and features essays by Menuez and acclaimed author Kurt Andersen.
