In conjunction with the Conservatory's special exhibit Garden Railway: 1915 Pan Pacific, Laura Ackley, architectural historian and author of the award-winning book San Francisco's Jewel City: The Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915, will share the riveting details of the Panama-Pacific's Closing Day festivities and reveal what happened to the 635-acre fairgrounds.
Ackley will be selling and signing her book both before and after the presentation. Registration includes admission to the Conservatory and the special exhibit Garden Railway: 1915 Pan Pacific, one free mimosa from the mimosa bar (non-alcoholic options available), and light refreshments.
