Perhaps the most surreal of all Disney's works is the imagination extravaganza that is Fantasia. The mind-bending animation will be broadcast in high-definition as Silicon Valley's finest orchestra plays along with the film's equally monumental soundtrack. When Fantasia was first shown in the 40s, Disney modified movie theaters with Fantasound to harness the power of this singular project. Disney shares one of its crown jewels of feature animation with Symphony Silicon Valley, accompanying scenes from Walt Disney's original FANTASIA (1940) and Disney FANTASIA 2000, highlighting a selection of the magnificent repertoire from both films including Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite. Other iconic moments from Disney's stunning footage, such as Mickey Mouse as he dabbles in magic in Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice and the mythical unicorns and winged horses that accompany Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, will also be shown in high definition on the big screen.
