As an investigative journalist, Eric Schlosser gives a voice to those at the margins of society. Whether harvesting crops with migrant farm workers in California; spending time with meatpacking workers in Texas and Colorado; telling stories of marijuana growers, pornographers, and the victims of violent crime; on a ride-a-long with the New York Police Department Bomb Squad; or visiting prisons throughout the United States, his work aims to shed light on worlds that are often hidden. Schlosser is the author of Fast Food Nation and Reefer Madness. His most recent book, Command and Control, examines the efforts of the military, since the atomic era began during World War II, to prevent nuclear weapons from being stolen, sabotaged, or accidentally detonated.
