| Description Livia Steins’ bold, gestural paintings showcase everyday objects, which evoke the artist’s memories, observations, and experiences. Piles of rocks, pet birds on pedestals and boxing gloves, placed against lavish backgrounds, serve as key imagery in the work. These disparate objects, punctuated by vibrant colors, are “mindful inventions on a two dimensional plane.”
Eric Michael Corrigan’s paintings fluctuate between complete and partial abstraction with recognizable imagery peppering much of his current body of work. Floating heads, cages, chairs, and cone shapes drift through the picture plane in varying color pallets, from dark blues and blacks to bright pinks and oranges. Influenced by pop and graffiti artists of the 1980’s, such as Keith Harring, Raymond Pettibon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Corrigan effortlessly blends those influences to create his own unique artistic style. |
