SF’s Second Oldest Saloon commemorates the fire hydrant that saved
the Mission District in 1906 with their “charity cocktail on tap” program.
Elixir, San Francisco’s historic and multi-award winning Mission District saloon added their first tapped cocktail on November 21, 2015. The tap handle itself is called The Golden Hydrant and $1 from every cocktail sold goes to a rotating list of non-profits that support relief efforts for the rampant, annual wildfires devastating California and the American West. On April 18th, Elixir will remember the 1906 Earthquake by donating 100% of all proceeds from The Golden Hydrant cocktail to Novato Fire Foundation. The current cocktail recipe, The Elixir Mule, is a derivation of the popular Moscow Mule utilizing Square One Botanical Organic Spirit, Top Hat Ginger Syrup and muddled rosemary.
