A Jamaican-themed party featuring Appleton Estates rum cocktails and punches and a rum-soaked, Jamaican jerked pig roast by Chef Ryan Farr of 4505 Meats. The Saturday afternoon fete will also serve as another fundraiser for Share Our Strength, a non-profit favored by many chefs and bartenders across the country for its work in eradicated child hunger in America, and already a beneficiary of weekly events at Elixir.
General Tickets are $45 and include $10 to Share Our Strength, one Appleton 12 Year rum cocktail and one bag of 4505 Chicharrones from 12pm to 1pm, one plate of food from the pig roast and a glass of Appleton Reserve rum punch or a pint of Newcastle. VIP Tickets are $65 and include all of that, plus another $10 to Share Our Strength, a limited edition commemorative t-shirt and a taste of Appleton 21 Year rum (only 30 of these tickets available and T-shirts available in limited quantities of Large and Extra Large). Ala carte sale of food will be available on the day of the party while supplies last. For more information and tickets, visit http://elixir9year.eventbrite.com
For the charitable aspect, a portion of the proceeds of the day will be added to the on-going football season promotion that Elixir is running until the Superbowl. In that promotion, whenever there is an NCAA or NFL football game on television, Newcastle beer is only $4 a pint and the brewery sponsors a free buffet on Saturday and Sundays, with a requested $5 donation to the cause. Newcastle, as another sponsor of this party, will be on special for the anniversary as well. At the end of the football season Elixir will write one big check to Share Our Strength. Ehrmann plans to add more fundraisers throughout the season to build the pot
