Elevate Ensemble’s premiere performance explores the artistic depth of classical music and draws a connection to the visual arts. This ensemble of young professional musicians teams up with rising artistic talents to produce a creative melting pot experience that celebrates creation through collaboration.
The program, held in the elegant Yoga Flow SF Studio, opens with the world premiere of a work penned by San Francisco-based composer, Danny Clay. It is followed by a performance of Darius Milhaud’s riotous Chamber Symphony No. 3, which will be accompanied by an abstract video animation from emerging artist Tristan George. The Milhaud will segue into the rarely performed six movement dance suite “Les Rondes” by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu.
The second half will begin with Bay Area composer Brien Henderson’s “Fragments of Lost Words,” a work inspired by the trencadis mosaic style of Catalonian architect Antoni Gaudi. Mr. Henderson, one of our special guests, will be there to introduce his work. The show concludes with a performance of Antonin Dvorak’s masterpiece, the Opus 44 Serenade for Winds, a piece that takes hold in every listener’s imagination.
Tickets are $15 online or $20 cash at the door
