As has become a tradition, we close our season remembering and paying tribute to those loved-ones who no longer are with us. This year, the SF Sinfonietta Orchestra and Chorus presents Johannes Brahms’ great choral masterwork Ein Deutsches Requiem, an all-out full blown performance by all of us for all of YOU. A bit of an eccentric character in his hometown, Brahms eschewed traditional liturgical format, and focused his requiem on themes of comfort and hope to which we add the joy of making music.
Soloists:
Madison Emery Smith, soprano
John Bischoff, baritone
If that isn’t enough, we also bring you the world premiere of “Front Line”, combining the local talents of poet Emmanuel Williams with composer (and SFSOC clarinetist) Michael Kimbell. This three-movement work for narrator, mezzo soprano and chamber orchestra will feature Mr. Williams reading, with the lovely voice of Madison Emery Smith.
General Admission: $30
Children under 18: $20
Tickets available online at City Box Office and at the door.
