Sweetwater Music Hall proudly presents an Edge of the West Record Release Party on Tuesday, May 17, beginning at 8 pm. With country roots, rock n’ roll attitudes, and jam band ways, this group of accomplished road-dogs are colliding worlds, bringing new, yet familiar sounds together to perform danceable, fun music with a lot of heart and transcendent jams.
The Edge of the West CD Release Party will feature songs from the 12-track compilation, mostly from the creative mind of front man Jim Lewin who takes the lead on vocals and guitars. Recorded by Eric McConnell, the record is a reflection of Lewin’s unique style, influenced by his 70's L.A. roots, his diverse musical career, vivid sense of humor, and inspired by the many musical universes he’s explored.
In addition to Lewin, the band will feature Bill Laymon, David Tucker, and Jon Dryden; heavyweight players who've worked with Norah Jones, Jefferson Starship, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Maria Muldaur, and more. Edge of the West has been playing shows for just over a year and has been rapidly attracting a following in the West Coast Americana and jam band scenes.
“This album is my way of tying together the various musical sub-cultural realms I've explored,” shared Jim Lewin.
Join Edge of the West on Tuesday, May 17 at the Sweetwater Music Hall for a celebration that will kick your whole week into high gear. It will be a barn-burning performance for the books!
