WHAT: Ed Ivey's Blues Jam
WHERE: Swig, 561 Geary, SF
WHEN: every Sunday from 9 pm to close

The long-running Sunday blues jam at Swig in San Francisco remains the city's best hang for musicians and music lovers from all over. Right in the heart of SF's busy theater district, Swig always attracts a fine mix of locals, tourists and students, the perfect crowd for a great blues jam. There's been a Sunday jam in this landmark room since the 1940s, from jazz to swing, rock to blues. Renovated and renamed last year, Swig is the city's best mid-sized music venue.

Hosting the jam session is veteran San Francisco bandleader Ed Ivey on trumpet and vocals with drummer Damon Hope (Fat Tuesday Band), bassman Ubidube Whittaker (Rye Kihn Band), the soulful, funky vocals of Edna Love and great guest guitarists every week.

The jam session starts at 9 pm every Sunday, there's NO COVER and all musicians are welcome to brin
