Duo Solo is a double bill of solo shows produced by Hatch, a powerhouse local performance collective. Emlyn Guiney and Julie Katz, two Hatch members, are the creators and performers. Emlyn Guiney is a theater artist, director, and bay area native. Her one-woman show Red String, was featured in the SFMoMA’s Amid A Space Between, Irish Artists in America (2012). She has performed with many local companies, including Fools Fury, Rapid Descent, Ragged Wing Ensemble, and The Jewish Theatre. She founded TENT, a free Oakland-based performance salon (2010-11), and Wild Theater (2013-current), a monthly performance-making laboratory for artists. Julie Katz is a transplant from New York City, where she was embedded in the comedy and improv scene. In San Francisco, she can be seen performing weekly with two house improv teams at Endgames Theater, where she will soon begin teaching.

One woman. A question. Her decision. The wait.
In this new solo work, one woman investigates her best made plans and invites you along as she navigates through the delights, failures, assumptions, and unknowns of her biggest decision yet. A lot can happen while we wait. How do we face plans gone awry? How do we let go? How do we stay the course? How do we listen to our intuition when we’re in a battle against the clock?
