On On this night, dr. ISRAEL will be performing exclusive versions of songs from his classic dub and dancehall recordings, along with sound system remix versions of new singles from upcoming releases on Bill Laswell’s new M.O.D. technologies imprint. He will be backed by PATCH DUB on effects and science and KATRINA BLACKSTONE on vocals.

dr. ISRAEL is a vocalist, producer, engineer, actor and revolutionary based in Brooklyn New York. The Doctor’s work has always had a foundation in the deep tradition of dub, dance hall and reggae, but what makes him stand out is his ability to fuse these styles with drum and bass, hip hop, and even punk and metal. His trademark sonically devastating base tones and politically conscious baritone are always delivered in a surprisingly accessible format for such an underground Icon. Some of his most notable solo releases are the underground hit albums Inna City Pressure, and the chart topping Patterns of War. He has also made countless guest vocal, remix, and production appearances with the likes of Rancid, Praxis, Santi Gold, Sepultura, Mad Professor, and Sublime just to name a few. The doctor has toured extensively throughout the world, bringing his conscious sounds to fans in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and beyond. His most recent collaboration has been with legendary bassist and producer Bill Laswell, on Bill’s new flagship project “Method of Defiance.” This “super group” includes dr. Israel on vocals, Bernie Worrell on keys (P-funk and talking heads), world-famous trumpeter Toshinori Kondo, drum wizard Guy Licata, reggae vocalist Garrison Hawk (Tricky), and Japanese hip hop Icon DJ Krush. The first studio albums “Jabulon” (vocal recordings) and “Incunabula” (instrumental recordings) are scheduled for an early October release on the new M.O.D. technologies Imprint. http://www.methodofdefiance.com/ and http://www.drisrael.net

A self-taught recording engineer, multi-instrumentalist/producer/sound sculptor PATCH DUB has developed a unique approach to recording and manipulating audio, truly creating his own sound. Patch was a founding member and driving force in the live electronic band, Heavyweight Dub Champion, which fused deep dub with intelligent hip-hop, crushed dance floors, and left a wake of fanatic fans and perplexed sound engineers. A sonic alchemist and technical innovator, he helped define what it meant to perform "Live P.A.," turning the soundboard into an instrument. http://patchdub.com/

KATRINA BLACKSTONE has recorded with artists such as the stellar Ron Carter, Brian Jackson, and Mike Clark for the album Legba's Light, in which she was featured on the song "Whisper" with Killah Priest. Her debut EP will be released in early spring. She is also featured on Bluetech's upcoming album, Love Songs to the Source as well as being a part of his new band, Satori Social. http://www.myspace.com/katrinablackstone

TURBO SONIDERO FUTURISTICO is beat-maker/producer Roman Zepeda. Born in San Jose, CA, he mixes the music of his Mexican roots with the music he grew up and was influenced by from the Bay Area. His music blends bass and cumbia, and is influenced by hip hop, dub and electronic music. He has gained much notoriety from international and local producers alike. He also collaborates with San Jose underground MC Mex Tape, does remixes for various artists, and is workings on his next E.P. http://www.myspace.com/turbosoniderofuturistico and
